11/1/12

Hi guys, the GTO is loaded up and ready to go for this weekend, we went to the drag masters meeting but it was rained out, the 350Z engine ready for the dyno too. The Gtr will be racing in oz in feb, so its all go this year for our team.

See you at the track...

18/11/11

Hi guys, the GTO is ready for the spring Nat's at Fram, Steve has the scoop now and is painting that for us. We are looking forward to testing on the saturday and racing on the sunday.

We have fitted a new larger dia/lift cam shaft, it should allow was to rev the engine harder and with the bigger dia it should take less power and make it alot better for the followers to turn on cam, it should make it easier on the springs too.

We will run the engine in on C & M dyno next week, then thats about it.

See you at the track...

19/7/11

Hi there, things are moving along nicely for our team, we have two new GTR engines on the build for Jambo! We have new blocks, pistons and rods so we hope to better our record and push the GTR to its limit for the Jambo meeting.

The GTO is all but finished, I need to cut the scoop hole in the bonnet and a few small jobs, but time is limited with the company and family so we do what we can when we can.

The 350Z has been slowed down due to the GTR engine program. As for our race car base in OZ we have fitted a car hoist and been building benches to work off. We will not have any cars in the speed show this year.

3rd May 2011

Hay there guys, great news! one of the 350z engines are finished, Scott is wiring up our Dyno trolley now, the motec/enigne loom will fit the car and the dyno trolley.

Keith is heading to Oz Wed as we have brought a warehouse over there so we can set-up a base to work from, there is enough space for a trailer, workshop area and 3 cars, up stairs is a office area we will turn into a living area so we can stay there, we are having a shower fitted etc this week.

The Pontiac is just about finished, we still need to cut out the bonnet scoop hole and cut out the exhaust holes in the body but thats only a few days work, plus we are changing a few things to make it meet the Oz rules etc.

We have had a trailer built too with a 6m deck and longer ramps so we can load the new cars without causing any damage to them.

The next big meeting for us will be the Winter Nats...

So I will Keep ya posted on progress.

11/1/11

Hi there, due to heavy rain and flooding in Aust, the meeting on the 15-16th is cancelled. Will keep you posted.

Hi there, well the 350z engine is in its build stage, the Pontiac front is just about ready for its undercoat, the Pontiac's engine is also being assembled and has a new cam shaft fitted, it has over an inch of lift and is a larger dia cam too which will be more gentle on the valve springs, they are set-up at 380 pounds and when compressed they have over 800 pounds on them so they go off after 3 or 4 races. If you only rev the engine to 8000 rpm they last much longer, but at 9600 rpm they drop off fast.

On other news we have a new person on our staff and race car team, Scott Anderson will start with us on monday, Scott will be looking after our race cars, taking care of servicing, prep work, fab and wiring plus a number of other day to day task's

We have brought a tow vehicle and trailer in Aust to use when we race there to make things easier, that's about it for now. (Sorry about the spelling in my last post, must of been a bad day lol)

18/10/10 SUMMER UPDATE...

Hi guys, well winter has come and gone, spring has done its thing and summer is just around the corner, which means that the drag season is close!

So far we just about have our dyno engine trolley really, I have formed a new air intake which will be cast into an alloy mould which will be used to shape and fab a new intake for the 350z, the GTO's front is in the sanding stage with some glass work still to be finished off. The GTR is sitting in oz, we have the new gearbox shaft so Keith will be heading over there soon to put the car back together.

The team will head to oz in Dec for some testing and track time. I would say the pontiac will be finished after xmas, its taken alot of time and money to repair the damage from its crash. Any way guys stay posted for more updates as the season takes off...

6/9/10 GTO IN THE PAINTING STAGE.

Hi guys, well everything is coming together nicely, the gto is having paint sprayed on the chassis today...

Bob and Anthony are taking care if this task, we will be able to put it back together soon.

This week I am building a dyno trolley that will hold the 350z engine, turbos, exhausts etc, intercooler, fuel cell, oil pump and tank. We had designed it to bolt up to a local dyno we plan to use.

16/7/10 GTR ABOUT READY TO SHIP

Hi guys, well everything is coming together nicely, the Skyline will head to the wharf next week for shipping.

Trevor is machining up an alternator bracket from billet alloy as the first moly version had flex at high rpm.

Antony is polished and buffed everything that he can find on the car and Keith is doing final touches to the car and sorting out the tools for the trip, I have finished our workshop container that we will work out of at the racing.

Keith, Reece, Andre Simons and myself are making the trip as well as our partners and children, so its a real family trip...

We will keep you post via our site and facebook...

7/7/10 350Z CHASSIS PAINTED - GETTING IT READY FOR THE SPEED SHOW...

Hi guys, Bob has painted the chassis of the 350z, now we can start the last stage of this build, the finishing stage!

Trevor has been machining the rail blocks that hold down the injector rails. The breather system for the GTR is done and we are finishing off our workshop bench set-up for the container that will head to oz at the end of this month.

So all is going well.

26/5/10 GTO CHASSIS FINISHED - GTR ABOUT READY

Hi guys, on the weekend we welded up the GTO's new chassis section, now its ready for painting... The GTO engine is in a short block stage as we wait for the new cam shaft from LSM in the usa.

The cam we had in the 500ci was a middle of the road cam, but still turned to 9500rpm, the new cam is a monster so we may see 10,000rpm at the gear change and a lower et...

The Head is on the GTR, Keith will fit the cams this week and it will be ready to race. The turbo has been polished up and Antony is fitting the oil breather system he fabricated.

25/06/10 GTR BOOKING ON SHIP CONFIRMED !

Preparations for our australian trip continue.

We have removed the the head and replaced the head gasket

so we have a fresh set-up once we arrive in Australia, we

are also re- welding the intake manifold, Trevor is machining the weld out of the intake manifold today on our new mill we have just got, the welds had split on us at one meeting, because of the polishing of the manifold it wears down the weld each time, plus the original welds were complaining from the extra boost. We are also taking one set of Goodyear eagle slicks and rims and a set of Mickey Thompson's slick and rims too to try both to see which ones comes up better.

Antony has been doing a lot of custom work for the GTR, he has mounted a dry sump tank in the boot that will be a breather tank for the main dry sump tank in the front and fabricated an alloy line from the two tanks out of alloy tube.

Kevin has been building a workshop bench to go into the container, the bench has a pull out work surface, vise, tyre rack above and storage underneath it.

We will also mount a generator and compressor on the doors and fit lighting on the roof, this will be our mobile workshop in Oz.

Keith, Reece, Kevin and Andre Simons will be making the trip back and fourth to Australia, we are all looking forward too this trip.

As for the GTO we will be fully welding up the chassis this Saturday, the 350Z is being stripped today so the parts can be polished up and other items sent to HPC. This car will be out just after Xmas.

I have applied for my Andra group 2 drag racing licence

,along with confirming the shipping, the car is now booked on the ship to leave N.Z on Monday the 26th of july.

20/5/10 GTR MAKES MORE POWER

Hi guys, we had a tuning session yesterday at ST Hi-tec with the new exhaust and modifications.

The work has paid of with a gain of 115hp at the wheels !

We will look forward to trying the new set up at the jamboree

in Queensland Australia on the 21-22nd August.

15/5/10 350Z NEAR TO THE END!

12/5/10 BUILD PROGRESS

10/5/10 Up date...

Hi guys, on Friday we started work on the GTO, fitting the new 4130 chassis section that got damaged in the crash.

Today I hope to fit the fuel pump and cell chassis section to the main section that was fitted on friday. Then there are some other small bars to be fitted into place then we can paint the chassis and starting putting it back together.

The front nose clip and scoop will be another story, they are in there raw carbon state so they will need alot of work to get it to paint. Maybe I can just enter it as a T bucket and race it like that untill the front is finished?

Will update each day on the progress.

Kevin

20/4/10 Up date...

This week we have started work on a chassis jig so we can weld up the new front of the GTO, our parts should be here soon. Keith is doing some work on the GTO engine, we are fitting a larger dia cam that will be very aggressive over the old cam that our 500ci had in it. Before our valve springs would last two meetings, now they may only last 3 runs before they need replacing at $1300 a set.

In the second photo you can see the needle roller bearings, now the new deal is to remove the needle roller and just fit a standard bearing into the cam tunnel, this lets you fit a larger cam which helps the valve springs last longer.

Next up on the GTR Anthony is fabricating the new sheet metal cover for the exhaust as we have gone to a 5" pipe it needed to be redesigned.

Keith is also doing some work on the 350Z, fitting the massive injectors and injector rails.

Other than that things have been quite.

6/4/10 Help us out, spread the work

Last night at 7-35pm we had some guys break into our GTR shop and steal the GTR rims and tyres and race seat from our shop, crazy thing is these are custom made in the usa by Bogart Racing wheels and have an custom off set that wont fit any cars in NZ or Australia!

They have a custom off set only for this race car, so they will be hopeless to sale, the slicks are a special size that we will notice any where as well. The race seat is a carbon fibre seat, race pro only made us 4 super lite models that stand out from the standard race seat.

We will offer a large reward for the return or info leading to these guys getting court, we have the car and one guy on our CCTV system, we are waiting for the police to come out tomorrow.

So we hope to post photos of the guy and car that we have on footage.

Any info email us or call 096210020, regards Kevin

31/3/2010

This week we have made up a large dyno exhuast pipe for the

GTR, we felt that it maybe getting back pressure from the smaller dyno pipes and mufflers.

The other job in the shop is a 5" exhuast on the skyline. Keith is building this exhaust for the GTR, we feel it will flow alot more with this size pipe.

Cheers

26/3/2010

This exhaust piece is so we can run 2 exhausts on the dyno as we think that one muffler may not flow enough air when we tune the GTR, the skyline is also having a 5" exhaust fitted to the car. This exhaust piece flow into a 5" then out into two 4" pipes into two mufflers on the dyno, before we were only using one muffler.

24/3/2010

Hi guys, this week we are checking and stripping parts of the GTR, checking over everything and replacing with new item's for when we head to Oz...

We are fitting new bearings, axles, wheel studs etc as the old item have been in there for a few seasons now.

As for the GTO the parts in the usa are all done now so we will be shipping them down soon, then the real work starts, re welding the chassis, fitting new chassis parts, fitting the new front and scoop, it will keep us busy over the winter months...

We will have the GTO ready for Nov this year for the Test and tune...

As for the motor in the GTO we are changing a few things as next year the GTO will head to Oz too to follow the Skyline as it will stay there after the Jambo meeting if all goes well.

9/3/10 GTR MAKES POWER

Hi guys, today we had the GTR on the dyno, it ran strong and showed great results on the fresh engine, over the last few weeks you would of known that we fitted new rods and rings, had the head faced and valves and cams checked so it was pretty much like new, the work has paid off as we have just as much horse power as we made when we ran the world record. So now the car is on track for the Nat's this month on the 19-20-21, we know the track prep will be at its best so all going well we hope to run so fast numbers before the car heads to Australia for the Jambo...

Thanks to ST-Hi Tech for the use of the Dyno, Andre from STM and Arnie for there help with getting this result...

4/3/10 GTR FIRES UP

Hi guys, the skyline is up and running today, we are all working on it at this point, I have been fitting a new window net system and playing around with the suspension.

Keith and Reece fitted the engine this week and have been hooking up the engine etc and Anthony has been fitting the drive shaft, clutch and gearbox.

We have fitted and new thermal couple exhaust system to the GTR. for more data info of what happening in the engine, Anthony fitted the plug unit into the fire wall.

At the moment we have Richard here sorting out the new larger injectors that the GTR now runs. Richard is a Motec tuner.
